Some Alarms May Cause Grogginess:
A musical alarm can heighten your sense of alertness in the morning, while a beeping alarm can leave you feeling groggy. People who enjoy musical elements in their alarms, such as catchy melodies or pleasant-sounding rhythms, wake up feeling more alert in the morning. Meanwhile, neutral sounds, which were unmelodic, were linked to heightened feelings of grogginess.

Researchers concluded that the sounds you choose to wake up to may have important ramifications. An alarm sound with a melody and a rhythm, like a favorite song, can better help the body adjust to waking up. Yet if you wake with harsh sounds, it may disrupt or confuse brain activity which was linked to diminished levels of alertness thereby affecting work performance for several hours.  (Study at Australia’s Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.)

Natural Remedy to Boost your Energy:
Feeling tired after exercising? Snack on an orange or kiwi for quick revitalization. Arizona State University scientists say foods rich in vitamin C increase enzymes that repair muscle cells, which speeds up healing and boosts your energy by 33 percent.

Lounge on Your Left Side:
Want to reduce heartburn? Lounge on your left side. When you’re ready to stretch out, whether you’re catching a catnap, watching a show or reading a book; lying on your left side helps reduce heart burn flare-ups by 50 percent. Researcher and gastroenterologist, Mel Samson, M.D, from Stanford University, explains that this position helps heavy meals pass directly and quickly from your stomach into your small intestine.

Hi Everyone,

By changing your perspective, you can change your reality.

We all have our own life story filled with relationships and events that have shaped who we are and what we believe to be true about our world. Depending on our perspective, we either perpetuate negative patterns or reinforce a life of happiness. No matter the circumstances, it’s the story we tell ourselves that makes the difference.

Take a moment and reflect on your stories. If you generally feel happy, then you are framing life’s experiences in a manner that serves you well. Yet, if you hold onto guilt or resentment, you may want to start telling yourself a new version of past and present events.

You are the only one who can define what role you will play in your own life. By taking responsibility for your story, you are able to learn and grow, forgive, and most importantly, create a brighter future.

You can choose a life story that supports you. Let it be a testament of your own resilience and creativity. Be kind to yourself and be generous with how many chances you get to learn what you need to know.
