Security experts report that Wi-Fi access at many airports is secure; yet least secure are San Diego International (San Diego, California), John Wayne (Santa Ana, California), William P. Hobby International (Houston, Texas), Southwest Florida International (Fort Myers, Florida), and Newark Liberty International (Newark, New Jersey). For protection, use cellular instead of Wi-Fi. Avoid e-mail and financial accounts, and make sure you have the latest version of your device’s operating system (Dror Liwer, Chief security officer of Coronet, a global cyber security firm.)

 

Yogurt May Reduce Heart Disease Risk:

Eating yogurt may reduce heart disease in people with high blood pressure. Men who ate at least two servings of yogurt each week had 21% lower risk of heart attack or stroke. Risk was cut by 17% for women. The reason is unknown, but probiotics from fermentation in yogurt production may play a roll. (Lynn L. Moore, DSc, MPH, Director of nutrition and metabolism at Boston University, School of Medicine.)

 

Natural Jet Lag Remedy:  

Eat tart cherries. They have high levels of melatonin, which help regulate your circadian rhythm and induce sleepiness. Best: have 1-1/2 cups of dried tart cherries or two tablespoons of any cherry juice concentrate one hour before you want to sleep on the plane and an hour before bedtime, for three days after landing. (Russe Reiter, PhD, professor of neuro-endocrinology, University of Texas.)

 

How to Avoid Some Crowds at Amusement Parks:

Turn left when you enter the park. Most people are right-handed, so they tend to go to the right when they enter. This means bigger crowds and longer lines are usually on the right after you enter.

Special Thanks

Our April’s Open House and Social Networking evening was a GREAT success. It was filled with great insight and learning.
